Become a Cristero
Answer the Call of Christ the King
The Cristero Party is not merely a political organization — it is a spiritual and civic movement dedicated to the reign of Christ the King.
In his 1925 encyclical Quas Primas, Pope Pius XI reminded the world that the greatest evils of our age arise because “the majority of men had thrust Jesus Christ and His holy law out of their lives,” excluding Him from private affairs and from politics alike. As long as individuals and nations refuse to submit to the sweet rule of our Savior, there can be no true liberty, no lasting peace, and no real harmony in society.
Our Goal Is Clear:
Proclaim and establish the social kingship of Christ.
We seek nothing less than a society in which Christ reigns in hearts, minds, wills, families, communities, and public institutions — where His law of charity and justice guides every aspect of human life.
The Cristero Movement:
Reimagining the Lay Vocation
This is a movement that seeks to reimagine the lay vocation and bring about the sanctification of the temporal order. Taking our cue from the formation of priests and religious, Cristero politicians and members commit themselves to a life of prayer for earthly rulers, for temporal events, and for the concrete situations facing our nation and world. We engage in politics and civic life not as ends in themselves, but as a means to sanctify our own lives and the earthly realm for Christ the King.
This commitment finds concrete expression in a basic Rule of Life — a daily rhythm of prayer, study, sacramental life, and apostolic action that forms us into true disciples and effective instruments of the King.
Our Vision:
A New Christendom
What we aim at is not a nostalgic return to the past, but the birth of a new Christendom. We strive for a genuine union of Church and State built on a fraternal partnership between the clergy and the laity. The clergy confront the “principalities and powers” that rule the nations (cf. Ephesians 6 and the deeper themes of spiritual warfare in Deuteronomy 32), battling the forces that seek to separate peoples, communities, and individuals from God. The laity, strengthened by the sacraments in which Christ truly reigns, bring His kingship into every sphere of temporal life—politics, culture, family, economy, and education—so that the King of Love may be served with full hearts.
In this new Christendom, society will once again receive “the great blessings of real liberty, well-ordered discipline, peace, and harmony” that flow from the recognition of Christ as King.
